The field notes
The essays draw on Anthony’s experience with back injury, physiotherapy, rest, pacing, and exercise. They focus on observable parts of daily life: dressing, walking, working at a desk, standing, and returning to a manageable routine.
Read The daily changes I noticed after a back injury for the role of functional checkpoints, or What physiotherapy added to my recovery for questions that can make a care conversation more specific.
Scope of the writing
Anthony writes personal essays for Gain of Motion. The site does not identify him as a physician, physical therapist, or other licensed clinician. The experiences describe one person’s history. They cannot establish another reader’s diagnosis or treatment needs.
Editorial companion sections add general context, questions, and evidence links. They are distinguished from the first-person account so readers can identify what kind of material they are reading.
